Design Engineer – Test Facilities\n\nPeterborough – fully on site PE1\n\nInitially 12 months – very long term extensions are highly likely\n\nMon-Thurs 8.30am-4.45pm / Fri 8.30am-4.15pm\n\n£28.35ph PAYE + holiday + pension or £38.50 umbrella rate\n\nOur client, a globally recognised Fortune 100 engineering and manufacturing organisation, is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join its advanced Test Facilities Engineering team in Peterborough.\n\nThis is an exciting opportunity to support New Product Introduction (NPI) programmes, designing bespoke test rigs, mechanical systems, rigging arrangements and facility upgrades that enable the development of future powertrain technologies.\n\nWorking within a multidisciplinary engineering environment, you'll play a key role in delivering mechanical design solutions that support engine testing, product development and future facility capability.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * Design mechanical components, assemblies and test equipment using Creo CAD\n\n * Produce detailed engineering drawings and technical documentation\n\n * Design rigging systems and mechanical solutions for test environments\n\n * Support facility modifications and engineering upgrades\n\n * Complete engineering calculations and technical analysis\n\n * Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver projects\n\nWhat We're Looking For\n\n * Mechanical design experience within an engineering environment\n\n * Strong Creo CAD and Teamcenter experience\n\n * Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications\n\n * Solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles\n\n * Strong communication skills and ability to work independently\n\nDesirable\n\n * Engine test, test facilities or development environment experience\n\n * Automotive, aerospace, powertrain or off-highway industry background\n\n * Knowledge of diesel engines and FMEA\n\nTo apply, please submit a copy of your up to date CV clearly indicating your relevant experience.
